Appen Media announces new hires, promotions

Appen Media Group is growing and has recently announced several new promotions and additions to the staff.

“We see a lot of opportunity to continue to grow our business in order to better serve our readers, listeners and clients with these new hires and promotions,” General Manager Hans Appen said. “I am excited for what the future holds for our industry, and we’ve got the right team in place to get there.”

Daniel Milana has joined the team as the director of Media Production, a new position created to grow and oversee the Appen Podcast Network. He will add new shows to the network and enhance the existing ones.

“[I am] very fortunate to be joining an amazing team and company with such a rich history in the community,” Milana said. “I am very excited to grow our existing shows into local and national favorites as well as expand into video to add even more entertainment value to our already great shows.”

Milana previously worked for over three years at BrandStar Entertainment helping produce shows like “Designing Spaces,” “The Balancing Act” and “Military Makeover” for Lifetime Television.

Reid Gan has also joined Appen as an account executive. A New York native, Gan previously worked for Vonage for four years.

“I’m very excited to join the team at Appen Media Group,” Gan said. “I think I’ll be able to produce well here, and will hopefully provide a different yet complementary dynamic to the sales team.”

Jennifer Edwards, who has previously worked with Appen Media Group as a freelancer, has been hired as a graphic designer on the production team.

Kimberly Tyson was named advertising assistant and will assist sales team operations. She has a creative background as a vegan blogger and recipe developer at eatplants4life.com.

The sales team has seen several new promotions.

Mike Dorman has been promoted and will lead the team as the director of Sales & Marketing. Dorman will oversee all sales efforts and lead the team of sales representatives to develop marketing products for the company’s clients.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of the explosive growth in the North Fulton and South Forsyth communities,” Dorman said. “Over the past eight years, I’ve had the privilege of working with hundreds of clients to help build and grow their business through Appen’s print and digital advertising options.”

Paul Flowers and Steve Neese have both been promoted to senior account executive.

“Each have been working their tails off, and their efforts have led us to working with a number of new clients and helping to grow our company’s revenue,” Appen said. “We are thrilled to recognize their work.”
